MIT Lab
The Auto-ID Technology Lab at MIT opened in October 1999. Its team of faculty, students, research scientists, and Ph.D. candidates are developing new networking and wireless technologies for the ePC code much as researchers at MIT developed the bar code more than 30 years ago.

The Auto-ID Center lab has formal links with the MIT Media Lab and the MIT Lab for Computer Sciences, optimizing the Center's research and development of revolutionary software, computer languages, and global supply chain operations for Auto-ID technology.
