Februar findet im Europäischen Parlament eine Anhörung zum Datenschutz statt. Durchgeführt wird sie vom Ausschuss für Freiheiten und Rechte der Bürger. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit verdient sie, weil sie sich erstmals mit dem Echelon-Überwachungssystem befasst.
